    ELG3121 Lecture Scripts

This page contains the collection of submitted lecture scripts. The marks (out of 6%) are also given. The marking for the first a few scripts are relatively gentle, since there is limited time for the first a few groups to learn the tools of Latex. In general (particularly for later groups), I will demand a script to be "nearly professional" to get the full 6%. Some further instructions related to marking are given as follows.

    • The readers of the scripts are your peer students, including those who might have missed the lecture you are scribing. You should try to make your script as clear and complete as possible, so that the students missing the lecture can use it as a self-study note. Try to include as much as possible the things I said in the lectures, including those that I did not write on the black board.
    • A script which consists of merely key words and equations and has little explanation will not get a high mark.
    • Make your best effort in writing, such as constructing formal sentences, explaining ideas with a good logic flow, making professional-looking figures etc. Every such little aspect, when nicely taken care of, can demonstrate a good effort and attitude, and will get rewarded.
    • I will, from time to time, merge the submitted latex files to compile a new latex file, in which I will need to modify and edit the submitted scripts. Those scripts requiring little editing effort will also be rewarded (since they have already included most of the things I would want to include). -- My recompiled version of the notes will be posted and updated as we go along.

    • Below are submitted scripts. --- I would like to note that these submitted scripts may contain errors or incorrect statements (I have identified some). So use them with caution.
