Moayad Aloqaily (Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidate)
Hi to all uOttawa graduate students. I am a PHD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. There are many reasons why I chose to run for the election of EEGSA; however, the most important one is to devote myself to convey your needs and concerns. I have always enjoyed meeting graduate students and discuss their academic and life issues. My main goal is to help you and your friends to find comprehensive academic solutions for common problems and of course to receive the activities that you deserve, however, the only way that I can be a strong voice for students is if I have your help.
I can always find the time and the effort to sit and talk, please feel free to contact me at maloq025 _at_ uottawa dot ca. Here is a sample of my personal: 1. PhD. in ECE 2. MASc. in ECE. 3. BAchelor in CE. 4. IEEE Member. 5. Sample Work:
1. Al Ridhawi, Ismaeel, et al. "Data caching and selection in 5G networks using F2F communication." Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2017 IEEE 28th Annual International Symposium on. IEEE, 2017. here
2. Aloqaily, Moayad, Burak Kantarci, and Hussein T. Mouftah. "Multiagent/multiobjective interaction game system for service provisioning in vehicular cloud." IEEE Access 4 (2016): 3153-3168 here
3. Anjomshoa, Fazel, et al. "Social behaviometrics for personalized devices in the internet of things era." IEEE Access 5 (2017): 12199-12213here

Danial Nakhaeinia (Presidential Candidate and Vice-Presidential Candidate)
I am running for EEGSA President. My personal and professional experiences as an international student, lecturer and team leader have equipped me with the initiative, passion, competency, and commitment necessary to succeed in this position. I have never believed in accepting the existing state of affairs, and I strongly feel that there is always something that can be done to improve our situation. As EEGSA president, I will strive to manifest a strong community by organizing more events, seminars and workshops. Furthermore, it is critical that the most vital link between ourselves and our university community be constantly presented with a strong voice to broadcast our concerns about the part we play here at Uottawa.

Ibrahim Buamod (Vice-Presidential Candidate)
Hello, uOttawa graduate engineers. I am Ibrahim Buamod a Master student and I'm running for Vice president for the 2014-2015 School Year. As my Job is ensuring that the President make ethical decisions and helping him in organizing the events. For this year I'm so determined to provide better events for all students.I will make sure to pick up a time that is suitable for all. Moreover the events that I thinking of are outstanding and amazing compared to the last events we had. My goal is to bring all graduate students together in the event to network and to know each other for a better association.

Why you should come vote!
According to our constitution, we need 10% of our population to cast a valid vote, otherwise we will disband this association. We currently have 464 graduate ELG students (see page 12/22 from this report), so we need at least 47 valid votes.

If we do disband, future ELG students can still revive this association by presenting GSAED with student signatures on a petition. For this reason, we are not against disbanding if there is not enough interest (less than 10% of valid votes) in continuing this association. All funds will be returned to GSAED, as GSAED has been providing the only regular source of funding for EEGSA since its creation.

Election for the 2014-2015 School Year
Quick update: Out last event was in April 2014, but we lost access to this website at the time. Advertisement was done through email, and we had a good 30+ people show up. We just got our access set up again, and this webpage will be updated more frequently.

It is time to do elections! It is time to pass on the torch! Due to the amount of work our current executives have, we will be unable to hold a full general assembly meeting. We will do instead ask students who are interested in being the president or vice-president of EEGSA to email us in the next 2 weeks with a statement, and we will post this statement on this website. After these 2 weeks, we will pick a date to vote where all currently registered ELG graduate students are encouraged to come to our office during a specific time window to cast a vote.

We will also be cutting down the amount of mandatory positions to only a president and vice-president. Most of us are here to do a graduate degree, not to run a full-blown student government. We will keep the Treasurer position as an optional position, but we encourage students who are interested in sitting on the EECS, Faculty, or GSAED council to apply directly with those councils: we will not be governing these councilors anymore. You may find out how to apply to the EECS and Faculty of Engineering council by contacting Arianne Gagne (the office next to conference room STE 5084).

The president of EEGSA should organize at least one event (social or academic) per school year; this could be a coffee social, joint-social events with other clubs (such as SPIE uOttawa, IEEE uOttawa, or another graduate student department from uOttawa), or a skills workshop (i.e. a LaTeX seminar was kindly offered by a CSI student in the past). This position is only as busy as you wish it to be!

The vice-president and treasurer of EEGSA must ensure the president of EEGSA makes ethical decisions, and does not misuse our funds. They should also assist the president with running this association.

According to our constitution, we need 10% of our population to cast a valid vote, otherwise we should disband this association. We currently have 464 graduate ELG students (see page 12/22 from this report), so we need at least 47 valid votes.

For this reason, we are not against disbanding if there is not enough interest (less than 10% of valid votes) in continuing this association.
