The W3C XPath [13] standard describes how navigation in a hierarchical structure (i.e., an XML document) is made using an
expression.
In DAIS, navigation is made using the various browse APIs. However in one place there is a need to describe navigation paths
as expressions and that is for the condition logic in Alarms and Events.
