2.1.1.1 Resources

A resource is anything with a distinct identity including, but not limited to, utility assets such as switches, pumps, and generators. In general, a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) with an optional fragment identifier, as defined in [3], can identify any resource. However, a more compact proxy for the URI, the ResourceID, is used in DAF queries and query results. The Events chapter elaborates on how and when URIs and ResourceIDs are used.
