Kinds of lens :

• achromatic lens (1 kind, 4 facts) - Lens (or combination of lenses) that brings different wavelenghts within a ray of light to a single focus, thus overcoming chromatic aberration. It was first successfully made by Joseph von Fraunhofer.
• aplanatic system (2 facts) - A system of three lenses which, taken together, correct for spherical aberration, chromatic aberration, and coma.
• field lens (2 facts) - A lens placed in or near the focal plane of a telescope to create an image of the primary mirror inside the instrument.
