Virgo infall	galaxy motion	The observed gravitational motion of nearby galaxies toward the Virgo cluster of galaxies, about 50 million light years away. The Virgo cluster represents a strong concentration of mass, a strong departure from a uniform distribution of matter, and it therefore causes galaxies in its vicinity to deviate from the Hubble flow.
