This course will be taught in a unique manner. For some weeks you will be taught by me. For the other weeks you will be with SEG2911 and ELG2911 in the lecture room for that course.

Week 1. Jan 7. Topic A: Introduction, History and Ethical Analysis. Powerpoint slides (pdf version)
Read chapter 1 of the text.
Assignment 1 Due Jan 15th before noon.

Week 2. Jan 14. Topic B: Privacy and Freedom of Speech (pdf version)
Read chapters 2 and 3 of the text

Week 3. Jan 21 Topic C: Computer Crime and Security (pdf version)
Read chapters 5 of the text
Assignment 2 Due Jan 29th before noon.

Week 4. Jan 28. You will be going to LEE A131 this week. See the wwebsite for SEG/ELG2911 and do any assignments listed for this week.
Assignment 3 Due Feb 5 by 7 p.m. as assigned by Dr. D'Amours. Note that ELG, CEG and SEG students will be doing a similar assignment with different topics (and their assignment has a different numbering sequence, so don't get confused).

Week 5. Feb 4. CSI2911 will be joined by SEG2911 students in SCS E218. Course notes will be provided later.
Topic D: Professionalism, Codes of Ethics, and Failures (pdf version)
Assignment 4 Due Feb 24 by noon. as assigned by Dr. D'Amours. Note that ELG and CEG students will be doing a similar assignment with different ethical issues - make sure you do the second part (and their assignment has a different numbering sequence, so don't get confused).

Weeks 6 and 7. Feb 11th and 25th. Law topics, taught by Prof D'Amours in LEE.
Assignment 5 Due March 8 by 5 p.m.. as assigned by Dr. D'Amours. Note that ELG and CEG students will be doing this as their assignment 6 so don't get confused).

Week 8. March 4. Entrepreneurship, taught by R. L'abbé and with Prof D'Amours in LEE.

Week 9. March 11. Intellectual Property, taught by Prof D'Amours in LEE.

Week 10. March 18. Both CSI and SEG students meet at SCS E218.

Week 11. March 25. Santé et sécurité au travail / Health and safety in the workplace taught by Prof D'Amours in LEE.

Week 12. April 1. Presentations. You have all been emailed your presentation time. You must email your presentation to tcl@site.uottawa.ca by noon so that the professor may set it up on the computer. Each presentation will be for up to 10 minutes, with 2 minutes for questions. This will be the last class.
April 9th: Deadline for written final report.
