Reusability and Interoperability of HLA

Presenter Hengheng Xie

Abstract

High Level Architecture (HLA) is a mature general framework for distributed simulation. The motivation of HLA is increasing the reusability and interoperability of the distributed simulation. However, these techniques, which are offered by HLA, are still limited. In my presentation, I will introduce two techniques, which supply more powerful and convenient approaches for simulation by HLA on different simulation levels. The first one is a Generic Rollback Manager for optimistic HLA simulation, which implements state saving and rollback management for optimistic simulation and can be reused by any other simulations. The second one is Multi-Resolution distributed simulation in HLA. This technique can combine simulations on different abstract levels into one simulation.
