Rami Abielmona - rabielmo@site.uottawa.ca - 2003 SMRLab - SITE - University of Ottawa -------------------------------------- | Course Web Site Template - v1.0 | -------------------------------------- After unzipping webTemplate.zip into a directory under the $HOME/public_html directory tree, you will notice that the directory contains the following files and sub-directories: assignment.html : This file is used to display the "Assignment Page" of the course template /assignments : This directory contains all the assignments (and in all formats) of the course that are linked from asssignment.html /docs : This directory contains any relevant course documents index.html : This file is the home page of the course template, and is used for course-level information and updates lab.html : This file is used to display the "Laboratory Page" of the course template labGroupsA.html : This file is used to display the section A students of the laboratory component of the course labGroupsB.html : This file is used to display the section B students of the laboratory component of the course /labs : This directory contains all the laboratories (and in all formats) of the course that are linked from lab.html /marks : This directory contains all the mark file(s) utilized in the course project.html : This file is used to display the "Project Page" of the course template /projects : This directory contains all the project-related documentation (specifications, user's manuals, data sheets, etc...) readme : This document Please ensure that all files and sub-directories (including the parent directory /public_html) have +rx permissions for group and other users. For example, performing a 'chmod 755 assignment.html' will force a +rwx permissions for the owner, and a +rx permissions for the group and other users. Please attempt to keep the University of Ottawa SITE-standardized headers and footers when saving the assignments, labs and project documents to their corresponding directories. This will help keep the look-and-feel of the course web sites in accordance with SITE web page environment (see ./assignments/assign1.html for example). A reminder that this is a sample template, and that all the information presented within the template is meant to be a starting point for the course web page, thus the graduate student is welcome to add/remove any components that does not suit their needs or requirements. Fill-ins have been provided in order to allow the student to easily customize the web site to any course.
