In the second step of an image compression process, a transformation
is applied to the prepared data.
Image Processing in JPEG:
For the decompression of the JPEG coded data the inverse DCT must be applied to get a presentation of the time space.
Inverse Image Processing in JPEG:
If the DCT and the inverse DCT could be calculated with full precision, it would be possible to reproduce the source pixelexactly. From a
theoretical point of view, DCT would be lossless in this case. In practise, precision is restricted and DCT is lossy.
