Short Biography
 
Xu Li currently is an NSERC Post-Doc Fellow at the Broadband Communications Research Group, University of Waterloo, Canada, with Dr. Xuemin (Sherman) Shen. He was a Post-Doc fellow at SITE, University of Ottawa with Dr. Ivan Stojmenovic and Dr. Amiya Nayak from 2008.10 to 2010.2 and at CNRS/INRIA, France with the POPS project team from 2008.12 to 2009.3 and from 2010.2 to 2010.06. He has a Ph.D. degree from Carleton University, Canada (2008.10), a master's degree from the University of Ottawa, Canada (2005.5), and a bachelor's degree from Jilin University, China (1998.7), all in computer science. His Ph.D. thesis supervisors were Dr. Nicola Santoro and Dr. Ivan Stojmenovic. During 2004.1-2004.8, he held a visting researcher position in the Institute for Information Technology (IIT) at National Research Council Canada (NRC). From 1998 to 2002, he spent four years in industry developing network security products as R & D team leader. He is/was a recipient of NSERC PDF awards, MITACS Accelerate internships awards, NSERC doctoral scholarships and a number of other awards.
