Title: Interactive Manipulation of Virtual Objects using Gesture Recognition

Abstract:
In order to make education effective and be able to achieve its desired results, knowledge must be properly transferred to students, for which due diligence is necessary. In the status quo, keeping students attentive has become an issue of serious concern, which leads to students skipping school, drop-outs and overall degradation of the efficacy of an educational system.
KINEFF (Kinect Effect) aims to eradicate this problem, which directly benefits both students and teachers. We aim to make education interesting, by making it an interactive experience for the students and also greatly aid the teachers at effectively conveying what is on their mind.
We have already seen the success  of Microsoft Kinect(initially designed for Xbox 360) providing Immersive game technology in which gestures can be used to control interactions within video games to try and make the game player's experience more interactive and immersive. Our modules are utilizing the depth sensing and user’s body tracking capabilities offered by Microsoft Kinect.
