Biography

Dr. Nancy Samaan received her Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 2007, where she is currently a professor. She has received her BSC and MSc degrees from the department of computer science, Alexandria University, Egypt, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. Her current research interests include management of enterprise networks, mobile communications, Quality of Service (QoS) issues and policy-based network management. In 2008, she was awarded the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada University Faculty Award (UFA). Dr. Samaan's research interests include networks and systems management and resource optimization. Application areas include software defined networks, virtual network functions, programmable data planes, named data networks, network virtualizatiton and cloud computing.
