and including file compression (Lempel-Ziv).

Closed book, no calculators.

20% File manipulation in programming (lect 2, end of lect 3 & labs)
15% Managing file of records/file and record structures (lect 3)
35% Secondary storage devices: disk, tape, CD-ROM, etc (lec 4-5)
10% The journey of a byte and buffer management (lect 6)
25% File Compression (lect 7-8)

Format:
You are asked to write your answers to questions
of various types:
doing calculations using learned concepts, showing data organization,
simulating algorithms learned, explaining concepts learned,
answering short/medium questions, writing programs.
