Images have considerably higher storage requirements than text. Therefore the data rates for the communication of continuous data are significant.

Pixel Image:
Pixel is an artificial word composed from picture and element. A pixel image is the counterpart to a vector-graphic. In a pixel image the information are stored point by point. In a vector-graphic the position, size, form, colour etc. of the objects are described.
