Maximal Independent Set Based
Bluetooth Scatternet Formation
Abstract:
Bluetooth is emerging as one of the most promising enabling technology for ad hoc networks. It operates in the 2.4 GHz- 2.48 GHz, unlicensed ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) band. Where wireless technology such as IEEE 802.11 does not impose topology constraints on the network; however, Bluetooth imposes certain constraint for constructing valid topologies. The performance of Bluetooth depends largely of these topologies.
In this talk we present some algorithms for the Bluetooth Scatternet Formation and evaluate their performances. We also discuss a new protocol for the Bluetooth Scatternet Formation based on Maximal Independent Sets.
