A Study of different formal representation of negotiations strategies and tactics within software agents

Abstract:

Negotiations involve protocols (i.e., the rules of the game) and strategies and tactics (used by participants in the negotiation to maximize their chances of making a good deal). I will present different AI (artificial intelligence) techniques used to describe negotiation strategies and tactics within software agents. Negotiation and E-negotiation, Need for Negotiation, Forms of Negotiation, Automated negotiation and Negotiation Strategies and Tactics would the focus in this presentation. I will also propose a set of requirements that such formalisms must have in order to be properly implemented. I will then make recommendations towards a formalism that answers the requirements and present a framework for implementing this formalism.

In this presentation, I will also introduce a classification table which is based on the previous work done in this field and are based on different categories.
