Conventional and Agent-based Image Segmentation
Abstract: One of the major difficulties met in image
segmentation lies
in the varying degrees of homogeneousness of the different regions in a given
image. Hence, it is more efficient to adopt adaptive threshold type methodologies to identify the regions
in the images. We have reviewed and studied different and recent research
methods that have been used in Image processing due to segmentation. To do so,
we present two types of approach in this field: Conventional
Image Segmentation and Agent-Based Image segmentation. In this
part we introduce that major traditional approach that still researcher using
in Image segmentation.
Finally, we introduce Agent-based
technique in Image Segmentation; hence we explore mostly new approach, and the
idea behind the Agent-Based image segmentation.
