here is an example of very common words being used in a very
technically specific manner:
A water table will, normally, turn out face runoff, but over
time may split and collect water.
without knowing the jargon, it is quite difficult to determine that
this sentence is talking about doors (a water table is the little bit
of wood at the bottom of a door). in fact, without the jargon, it is
hard to even parse this sentence.
