Title: Conceptual Multidimensional Modeling using Cube ER and Cube EDM

Abstract:
Many approaches haven been taken toward multidimensional modeling at logical level. However, those approaches served only the
purpose of designing multidimensional datases. We are introducing a model called Cube EDM to support conceptual multidimensional modeling and implementation. With Cube EDM, a non-technical user can pose queries at a conceptual level, and the system will map the quesries to the multidimensional level. Our model extends the Entity Data Model (EDM) developed by Microsoft to raise the level of abstraction from the relational model to the entity relationship model.
