Topic: Web-based Real Time Collaboration
Abstract:
Real time collaboration is defined as using the
Internet and presence technology to communicate with co-workers as if
they were in the same room, even if they are located on the other side
of the world. In our research we use a popular web browser FireFox as
the client side interface to let users have the experience of working
on the same application together in a real time manner. We have built a
web-based application called UC-IC, which has integrated several
browser based applications such as word pad, drawing pad, photo
viewer, and video viewer etc. to prove the concept. Based on a
standalone UC-IC server, we are going to adapt the SIP protocol to
establish P2P connections between servers to extend the capability of
the web based real time collaboration.
