Title: Load Balancing in HLA-Based Distributed Simulation
Abstract:
Studying the effect of atmosphere on real flights, Observing how a
fire would spread in a forest, Studying the impact of a major
accident to a brand new car. All of the previously mentioned
examples, and many more, would cost money, lives, and time if they
were conducted in real life. Simulation has been an attraction to
both the industry and academia. With the advancement of technology,
simulation needed to be broadened. Therefore, Distributed Simulation
concept was introduced.
In the presentation, I'll be presenting High-Level Architecture
(HLA), which was proposed by the US Department of Defense in 2000,
to provide distributed simulation. HLA was built on an assumption
that all resources must be dedicated to do only simulation, which is
not the case now a days where all resources are shared. This has led
to a problem that requires designing Load Balancing techniques. I
will be presenting the problem in details and the different Load
Balancing techniques used to overcome the problem.
