Job Description:
The IBM Extreme BlueTM internship experience is an incubator for talent, technology, and business innovation targeting high-potential technical and business students. During the 14 week experience, team members work together to conceive and deliver the technology, business plan and go-to-market strategy for an emerging business opportunity in areas such as e-business on demandTM, Grid computing, Autonomic computing and others. The small team structure is unique and combines business and technical students with early career IBM employees, as well as IBM's top visionaries and scientists. Cool projects
Toronto:Industry Solution Development: The objective is to develop a reusable industry solution asset in the RFID domain area. This asset will include specific information regarding RFID implementations, and coding samples, designed to minimize deployment times.
Rational Tooling: The objective of this project is to use services on a GRID of Web Services to test applications and other web services on demand.
Ottawa:Rational Tooling: The objective of this EB project is to define and build a new IBM offering that addresses the emerging field of Domain Specific Modeling.
Records Management: The objective is to manage, as official records, a broad range of unstructured information such as documents, correspondence and images, using a universal records enabler, making regulatory compliance more cost efficient.

Software Engineer Intern Requirements:In "Starting Something BIG" during the Extreme Blue experience, we look for candidates with advanced skills, experience and a passion for business and technology. The skills applicable to all the projects are as follows:
A minimum of 6 months software development experience (strong programming
skills in Java, C++ and/or C) in an open source, commercial, or research
setting (equivalent of 2 semester internships)
A minimum GPA of 3.0 (or 3.75 on a 5 point scale)
Strong leadership, communication and teaming skills
Manage customer relationships
Developing Presentations
Solve technical problems
The ability to turn ideas into reality working closely with others in teams
Active contribution to professional communities (i.e. Open Source, LUG, IEEE,
